Families at Union Colony Elementary, a tuition-free public charter school in Evans, come from many different places and speak many different languages. We love the diversity of our community and are committed to ensuring every child feels welcome, supported, and challenged at school.
Close to half of all families at Union Colony Elementary speak a language other than English at home. That makes us the second-highest among all elementary schools in the district. No other charter school in the area comes close. That means we have the experience to serve this community in ways other schools don’t. Our teachers work hard to improve how we teach and support these students every year.
Many families worry that in a large classroom, their child will be overlooked. At Union Colony Elementary, our class sizes are small. Teachers know their students by name. They know how each child learns and what each child needs. That kind of close attention makes a real difference, especially for children who are learning English while also learning to read, write, and do math.
