Welcome to Union Colony Elementary School

As a charter school we have a degree of freedom in determining the educational process based on the needs of the students who attend UCES.  A key part of our founding was the belief that our trained teachers, who know their students, should be involved in a collaborative process that determines the culture, climate, and curriculum used at this school.  While basics remain the same, our student body brings unique challenges with their diverse language and cultural backgrounds.  Our faculty, working with administration, has worked hard to develop an educational approach focused on preparing our students to begin a journey of success in life. While we were founded to prepare students for success at our secondary campus across from Aim Community College, we believe that this preparation will serve the children of this community no matter where they continue their educational process.

Principal Perspectives - Dave Warner

Welcome back UCE Timberwolves! I hope that all of you had a restful and enjoyable Winter Break! We are happy to have all of our Timberwolves back in the den!  The 2nd semester is a busy time of the year, especially in schools. Mid-year testing is underway.  All grade-level teachers are working hard to prepare students for end of year testing as well as student promotion to the next grade level.  Now is a great time for parents to check Infinite Campus for updated grades and attendance records.  Attendance during the 2nd semester is more important than ever.  Attendance rate is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It's difficult for the teacher, and the class to build student skills and if a student is frequently absent.  Union Colony Elementary School allows students to be outdoors for recess when the outside actual, or “feels like” temperature is 20 degrees or warmer.  Please ensure your child has appropriate outerwear to be outside during recess when the temps are cold.

Union Colony Elementary School partners with the “Covering Weld Diaper Bank”, who is part of The United Way of Weld County, to provide our school families and community in need, with free diapers, wipes, and rash cream.  If you are a UCE family or community member and would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please call UCE at 970-673-4997 or stop by the school office.  All UCE families and community members in need of help are encouraged to request assistance.  There is no cost to take advantage of this service.  WE WANT TO HELP!  Thank you for supporting Union Colony ELementary School.
