The Greeley Stampede Foundation is continuing their Scholarship Program for 2010. The awards are for $1500, $750 for fall and $750 for spring. New this year is one scholarship focused on the arts, fine art or performing art.
Applicants must be a student graduating from a Weld or Larimer County High School in spring 2010. Have a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Have written proof of admission to an accredited institution of higher education and be of good moral character. See Mrs. Martens in the UCS counseling office or call 373-3520 for the application information. Due March 5, 2010.
The North Central Chapter COGA, Colorado Oil and Gas Association, is offering twelve $1,000 scholarships to Weld County or Brighton High School Seniors planning to attend any Post-secondary accredited institution.
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.00 or higher and must be accepted to an accredited institution.

Colorado School of Mines 2010 E-Days Scholarship: Three awards for four-year full resident-tuition scholarships.
Applicants must be a Colorado resident high school senior graduating from a Colorado high school and planning to
attend Colorado School of Mines. The scholarship application can be found online at:
http://studentactivities.mines.edu/EDays-Scholarship All applications must be submitted by March 12, 2010. By the same date students must have applied for and been granted admission to the Colorado School of Mines.
Colorado Masons’ Benevolent Fund Scholarships: Awards are up $7,000 per year, renewable annually up to four years to a maximum of $28,000.
Applicants must be a graduating Colorado Public High School senior and must attend an institution of higher learning in Colorado.

Colorado Masons’ Benevolent Fund Vocational Grant: Awards are up to $3,000.
Applicants must be a graduating Colorado Public High School senior and must attend an approved vocational training program within the State of Colorado.

As your student prepares to further his/her education after high school, many diecisions must be made. Some of those decisions are financial in nature.
You should complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) which allows you to be considered for state and federal grants, work study and loans. this application should be submitted no later than June 30, 2009 and is available at the school or on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Many scholarship applications DO NOT come to the high school. Instead, they are now imbedded in the COLLEGE application form.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE your student to complete all scholarship applications for which they qualify. THOUSANDS of scholarship dollars go unused every year simply because no one applies for them.
